  • 1 batch of donair meat
    (from this recipe)
  • 1 batch of donair sauce
    (from this recipe)
  • 4 sub rolls
  • 1 cup chopped tomatoes
  • 1 cup chopped onions
  • 1 cup mozzarella cheese, shredded

Note: If you’re lucky enough to find donair meat and donair sauce in your local grocery store, you’re welcome to use that too!

Instructions

  • Preheat the oven to 375°F.
  • Prepare the donair meat according to the recipe. Then, heat the cooked donair meat in a frying pan over medium heat for a few minutes until warmed through. Allow some of the edges to crisp up slightly, but keep the meat moist.
  • Prepare the donair sauce according to the recipe.
  • Lightly toast the sub rolls in the oven for about 5 minutes until slightly crispy.
  • Drizzle some donair sauce on the inside of each toasted sub roll.
  • Add a generous layer of donair meat to each sub, followed by a sprinkle of mozzarella cheese.
  • Top with chopped onions and tomatoes.
  • Place the subs back in the oven and bake for 10-12 minutes, until the cheese is melted and bubbly.
  • Once out of the oven, drizzle more donair sauce over the subs before serving. Enjoy!
