Delicious Homemade Cream Cheese Cinnamon Roll Icing
It's no secret that I love my sweets… but did you know just how much I LOVE anything any everything cream cheese related??
I love cream cheese and it clearly loves me – which is especially evident when you see just how many blocks of it are stocked in the drawer of my fridge. 😉
Maybe you feel the same loving bond with cream cheese as I do – if so, you're definitely my best friend! 🙂
One of the best ways to enjoy cream cheese is when it's mixed up, turned into a delicious creamy icing and slathered on top of some fresh baked homemade cinnamon rolls.

The recipe in this post is how I've been making cinnamon roll icing for that last couple years and it's always received great reviews from all my little taste testers! 🙂
You can also use this recipe as frosting for cupcakes too!
I like my cinnamon roll icing to be quite thick but if you prefer, you can always adjust the amount of milk used in the recipe to thin it out a little more. If you do want to make an adjustment, just make sure that you only add a little milk at a time, mix and see how it goes.
Also keep in mind that that yummy icing is going to melt down a little when you spread it on top of a nice fresh and hot cinnamon roll! 😀

Delicious Homemade Cream Cheese Cinnamon Roll Icing
- Total Time: 5 minutes
- Yield: About 2 cups 1x
Ingredients
- 1 cup (250 g) plain cream cheese, room temperature
- 1 cup powdered (icing) sugar
- 1/2 tsp vanilla
- 1/2 tbsp milk
Instructions
- Combine all ingredients until smooth.
- You can change the consistency of the icing by adding more or less milk to the recipe – it's up to you! 😀
- Spread on top of cinnamon rolls or even use as frosting for cakes or cupcakes!
