Some of the fondest memories of my childhood are the times I spent watching my grandmother (I always called her Mum) in the kitchen putting together yummy treats for the family. Years and years later, I can still vividly remember the smells of those irresistible goodies baking in the old fashioned wood stove in the kitchen.
Mum's cooking was the best – she always knew how to make something extra special using the simplest ingredients on hand in the pantry or from the garden on the farm.
