Ingredients
- 1 lb lean ground chicken
- ¼ cup breadcrumbs
- 1 egg
- 2 tablespoons finely minced onion
- 1 clove garlic, minced (or ½ teaspoon garlic powder)
- ½ teaspoon salt
- ½ teaspoon black pepper
- ½ teaspoon paprika
- 1 tablespoon olive oil (for cooking)
- Toppings of your choice
- optional but highly recommended – Easy Garlic Aioli
- buns, toasted
- slice of cheese – cheddar works well but any you like is good!
- tomato, lettuce, red onion slices
- ketchup, etc
Instructions
- Add the ground chicken, breadcrumbs, egg, onion, garlic, salt, pepper, and paprika to a mixing bowl.
- Mix gently until everything is evenly combined.
- Divide the mixture into four equal portions and shape them into burger patties.
- Heat olive oil in a skillet over medium heat.
- Cook the patties for about 5–6 minutes per side, or until they are golden brown and cooked through.
- Serve the burgers on toasted buns with your favorite toppings. A generous spread of easy garlic aioli makes a perfect creamy, garlicky addition to these homemade chicken burgers.
Notes
Ground chicken is softer than ground beef, so lightly oiling your hands can make shaping the patties much easier.
Try not to overmix the meat mixture — mixing just until combined helps keep the burgers tender and juicy.
If the mixture feels very soft, you can refrigerate the patties for about 15–20 minutes before cooking to help them hold their shape.
These burgers are especially delicious topped with easy garlic aioli, which adds a creamy, garlicky flavor that pairs perfectly with the chicken.
