- 4 chicken breasts
- 4 tbsp brown sugar
- 4 tbsp olive oil (or melted butter)
- 5–6 cloves garlic, minced (or ~2 tsp garlic powder)
- 2 tsp paprika
- 1 tbsp Dijon mustard
- 1 tsp salt
- 1 tsp black pepper

- ½ tsp chili flakes
Instructions
- Preheat oven to 400°F (200°C).
- Pat chicken breasts dry and place in a baking dish, leaving space between them.
- In a small bowl, mix brown sugar, olive oil (or butter), garlic, paprika, Dijon mustard, salt, and pepper.
- Spread the mixture evenly over the chicken breasts.
- Bake uncovered for 30 minutes, or until the internal temperature reaches 165°F (74°C).
- Broil for 2–3 minutes at the end to caramelize the top.
- Let rest for a few minutes before serving.
Notes
Don’t overcrowd the pan—this helps it roast instead of steam.
The broil step gives the best caramelized coating.
Pairs perfectly with creamy orzo or sun-dried tomato orzo.
