Description

Juicy baked chicken breasts coated in a sweet and savory brown sugar garlic glaze with a caramelized finish. This easy oven-baked chicken is packed with flavor and perfect for a simple weeknight dinner.


Ingredients

  • 4 chicken breasts
  • 4 tbsp brown sugar
  • 4 tbsp olive oil (or melted butter)
  • 56 cloves garlic, minced (or ~2 tsp garlic powder)
  • 2 tsp paprika
  • 1 tbsp Dijon mustard
  • 1 tsp salt
  • 1 tsp black pepper

  • ½ tsp chili flakes

Instructions

  1. Preheat oven to 400°F (200°C).
  2. Pat chicken breasts dry and place in a baking dish, leaving space between them.
  3. In a small bowl, mix brown sugar, olive oil (or butter), garlic, paprika, Dijon mustard, salt, and pepper.
  4. Spread the mixture evenly over the chicken breasts.
  5. Bake uncovered for 30 minutes, or until the internal temperature reaches 165°F (74°C).
  6. Broil for 2–3 minutes at the end to caramelize the top.
  7. Let rest for a few minutes before serving.

Notes

Don’t overcrowd the pan—this helps it roast instead of steam.

The broil step gives the best caramelized coating.

Pairs perfectly with creamy orzo or sun-dried tomato orzo.
