Just a quick note before you start: make sure you’ve got your donair meat and donair sauce all set before getting started on this recipe!

  1. Preheat your oven to 475°F (245°C). If you’re using a pizza stone, place it in the oven to heat up as well.
  2. Roll out your pizza crust to your desired thickness. If you’re using a pre-made crust, make sure it’s at room temperature.
  3. Once your pizza crust is ready, spread a thin layer of donair sauce on the crust, leaving a small border around the edges. Note: Save some sauce for drizzling on top after baking.
  4. Top the sauce with an even layer of mozzarella cheese.
  5. Arrange the thinly sliced donair meat evenly over the cheese.
  6. Place the pizza in the oven on a pizza stone or baking sheet and bake for 12-15 minutes, or until the crust is golden and the cheese is melted and bubbly.
  7. While the pizza is baking, chop the white onion and tomatoes (seeds removed).
  8. Once the pizza is cooked, remove it from the oven and immediately sprinkle the chopped onions and tomatoes over the top.
  9. Drizzle some extra donair sauce over the pizza to further enhance the flavor.
  10. Slice and serve your delicious homemade Halifax Donair Pizza! Extra donair sauce on the side is great for dipping!
