Instructions
Just a quick note before you start: make sure you’ve got your donair meat and donair sauce all set before getting started on this recipe!
- Preheat your oven to 475°F (245°C). If you’re using a pizza stone, place it in the oven to heat up as well.
- Roll out your pizza crust to your desired thickness. If you’re using a pre-made crust, make sure it’s at room temperature.
- Once your pizza crust is ready, spread a thin layer of donair sauce on the crust, leaving a small border around the edges. Note: Save some sauce for drizzling on top after baking.
- Top the sauce with an even layer of mozzarella cheese.
- Arrange the thinly sliced donair meat evenly over the cheese.
- Place the pizza in the oven on a pizza stone or baking sheet and bake for 12-15 minutes, or until the crust is golden and the cheese is melted and bubbly.
- While the pizza is baking, chop the white onion and tomatoes (seeds removed).
- Once the pizza is cooked, remove it from the oven and immediately sprinkle the chopped onions and tomatoes over the top.
- Drizzle some extra donair sauce over the pizza to further enhance the flavor.
- Slice and serve your delicious homemade Halifax Donair Pizza! Extra donair sauce on the side is great for dipping!
