Description
These strawberry cream cheese tea sandwiches are a simple and nostalgic addition to any tea party, shower, picnic, or sandwich tray. Made with soft white bread, creamy cream cheese, and sweet strawberry jam, they’re easy to prepare and cut into classic finger-style tea sandwiches for serving.
Ingredients
- 6 slices soft white sandwich bread
- 4 oz cream cheese, softened
- 3 tbsp strawberry jam
Instructions
- Spread cream cheese evenly over one side of all 6 slices of bread.
- Spread the strawberry jam over the cream cheese on 3 slices of bread.
- Top with the remaining bread slices, cream cheese side down, to form 3 sandwiches.
- Using a serrated bread knife, trim the crusts from each sandwich for the cleanest cuts and best presentation.
- Cut each sandwich into thirds so that each full sandwich becomes 3 finger-style tea sandwiches.
- Arrange on a serving tray and serve immediately or refrigerate until ready to serve.
Notes
Soft white bread gives these tea sandwiches their classic texture and appearance.
For the cleanest cuts, use a serrated bread knife when trimming the crusts and cutting the sandwiches into thirds.
Spreading cream cheese on both slices of bread helps keep the jam from soaking into the bread.
