Instructions

  1. Prepare the ingredients: Remove the seeds from the tomatoes and dice them in small pieces. Dice the onions and jalapeño, and chop the cilantro finely. Mince the garlic if using it.
  2. In a large mixing bowl, combine the diced tomatoes, onions, jalapeño, and chopped cilantro.
  3. Add the lime juice to the bowl, along with salt (or to taste). If using garlic, add the minced clove as well. Gently mix all the ingredients until well combined.
  4. Cover the mixing bowl with plastic wrap or a lid, and let the salsa sit in the refrigerator for 30 minutes to an hour. This allows the flavors to meld together for a more potent salsa.
  5. Taste and adjust the seasoning as needed, adding more salt or lime if desired.
  6. Serve your Pico De Gallo (Fresh Salsa/Salsa Fresca) chilled as a side dish with tacos, nachos, or tortilla chips, or even as a topping for grilled meats and fish!
