- 2–3 canned chipotle peppers in adobo sauce
- ¼ cup adobo sauce from the can
- 1 medium tomato, chopped
- 1 garlic clove, minced
- ¼ cup white vinegar
- ¼ cup water
- 1 tbsp olive oil
- 1 tsp honey or sugar (optional but recommended)
- ¼ tsp ground cumin
- Salt to taste
Instructions
- Add chipotle peppers, adobo sauce, chopped tomato, minced garlic, vinegar, water, olive oil, cumin, and honey (if using) into a blender.
- Blend until smooth and creamy. If needed, adjust the consistency with a little more water.
- Taste the sauce and adjust seasoning as needed. Add more salt or a touch of honey for balance.
- Pour into a clean jar and serve immediately or store for later.
