  • 23 canned chipotle peppers in adobo sauce
  • ¼ cup adobo sauce from the can 
  • 1 medium tomato, chopped
  • 1 garlic clove, minced
  • ¼ cup white vinegar
  • ¼ cup water
  • 1 tbsp olive oil
  • 1 tsp honey or sugar (optional but recommended)
  • ¼ tsp ground cumin
  • Salt to taste

Instructions

  1. Add chipotle peppers, adobo sauce, chopped tomato, minced garlic, vinegar, water, olive oil, cumin, and honey (if using) into a blender.
  2. Blend until smooth and creamy. If needed, adjust the consistency with a little more water.
  3. Taste the sauce and adjust seasoning as needed. Add more salt or a touch of honey for balance.
  4. Pour into a clean jar and serve immediately or store for later.
