At first glance when you look at my site Dishes and Dust Bunnies, you might think I’m an incredibly organized person.
Well the truth is… I have a long history and struggle with being disorganized!
I love to make plans for the future, both in terms of my blog and in terms of my life. In spite of my best intentions I usually end up having plans pushed to the wayside and items on my to do list left unchecked.
I’ve made New Year’s resolutions in the past but like many people I’ve had a hard time keeping them. When making a resolution or plans for the future I always start with the best of intentions but something always gets in the way – whether it be making excuses or loss of motivation.
This year, in 2016 I’m determined to get more organized and make this resolution work for real!
Recently, I received the Living Well Planner from the Ruth Soukup of LivingWellSpendingLess.com. You may have read in previous posts that I just love anything that she has her hand in, including her books and her blogging course.
I figured that since I love everything else Ruth does, then it would be natural that I’d also enjoy her planner AND actually use it!
This planner is keeping me motivated, organized and on track for an awesome year!
I love how it’s customizable and offers great flexibility and options for creative minds. The front and back cover are made of extremely sturdy cardboard so it will hold up to some heavy use. I also received some stickers with inspirational quotes to place where I like (I just love how motivating the quotes are!).
I’ve seen others online post gorgeous images of how they decorated their planners – anything from decoupage flowers to glitter and family photos – there are all sorts of lovely and creative ways to decorate this and make it your own.
One great thing about the planner is that it’s quite large. While some people prefer a small planner, personally I prefer working with larger sheets since I have plenty of space to write and to move things around if needed. I love the combination of colors for the planner too!
You can start using the planner any time that you’re ready since the pages can be customized and filled with the dates you need. There’s no need to wait for a new year to start using the planner – I just love that you can start using it any time.
I know I said being more organized is a New Year’s resolution for me but I just couldn’t help getting started with it right away! After taking the pictures for this post, I’ve filled in at least a couple weeks worth of my to dos, etc.
That’s a good start right? 🙂
There are lots of different worksheets in the planner and there’s a section for each month separated by sturdy dividers.
Sections included in the Living Well Planner:
- Long term and Monthly goals worksheets
- Year at a glance and important Info
- Mater to-do list
- Monthly Budget and expense trackers worksheets
- Weekly Pages for sorting out all your to-dos and must dos
- Weekly Meal planner Worksheets
- Notes and Ideas pages
A couple ways I’m customizing the planner for my needs:
- In the meal planning section, I’m also planning out my blog posts. Since most of my posts have to do with recipes it fits in quite nicely there! In my family, we pretty much just eat the usual for breakfast and so… the breakfast section becomes “B” for blog posts.
- I’m using small sticky notes for tasks that may need to be moved around. This works great for me since I don’t want to have to scratch out or use white out over plans that change. I can just move the sticky note and it’s much tidier.
If you’re looking to get more organized in 2016 or anytime in the future, I’d definitely recommend getting the Living Well Planner.
This is a planner I’m actually going to use!!
